Maryland Day

Professor Lectures

Michael Fisher, Professor, gave three Mark Kac Memorial Lectures at the LANL Center for Nonlinear Studies from March 17, 2008 - March 19, 2008. The Mark Kac Annual Memorial Lecture Series was established in 1986 as a continuing tribute to the founding chairman of the CNLS External Advisory Committee for his lifelong commitment to the pursuit of scientific research of the highest quality and to the broad dissemination of the results of this research.

From April 4-6, Rabindra Mohapatra, Professor, was the theory discussion leader for a possible neutron-anti-neutron project at DUSEL (Deep Underground Science and Engineering Laboratory). The discussion was held at an NSF sponsored workshop at Ohio State University. Additionally, on April 18, he presented at an invited talk on "Neutrino Mass Physics at LHC" at the NO-VE meeting in Venice, Italy.

Graduate Student Appreciation Lunch

On Thursday, April 17, 2008, a lunch was held in the lobby of the University of Maryland Physics Building. The event was held to recognize the excellent work of our graduate students. To view images, click here.

Party for Bernie Kozlowski

A party was held in the Physics Building Lobby, on April 18, to thank Bernie Kozlowski for all of her years and wonderful efforts as the Coordinator of the Undergraduate Education office. To view images, click here.
