  • Andrew Baden held a colloquium at the Catholic University of America on January 25, 2006. The colloquium titled,
    "The CMS Detector at the LHC," gave an introduction to the lab, the accelerator and the experiments (LHC and CMS) held at the CERN Laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland.

  • Ho Jung Paik participated in several World Year of Physics events in US and Korea . On August 11, he gave an invited talk: “100 years from the miracle year in physics: Einstein's legacy” at the 2005 US-Korea Conference on Science, Technology, and Entrepreneurship at Irvine, California . On October 4, he participated in a round-table discussion: “International scientific collaboration contributes to world peace,” at a WYP event in Seoul sponsored by the Swiss Embassy and on October 15, he gave a public lecture to the Korean community, entitled “Einstein's relativity and the expanding universe” at College Park. More recently, on January 12, 2006 he was invited to give a lecture, titled "Gravitational Waves," at the 2006 KIAS-SNU Physics Winter Camp in Seoul.
