Final Exam Arrangements(!!!) - Updated 12/19/09, 1:20 pm EST.
- Posted below are final grades based on all coursework except for the final exam. The grading scheme is 30% for each mid-term, and 40% for the homework.
- If you would like to accept the grade shown below, then you do not need to do anything else.
- If you would like to have a chance to improve your grade by taking a final exam, you may do so.
- Students who took the final exam on December 18th can choose to have that exam graded and included in their final grade.
- Students who have not yet taken the final exam will be able to do so on January 30th, 2010, at 8 am in Physics 1201. These students will be assigned incompletes until January 30th.
- Any student who wants to have a final exam included in his/her final grade, including those students who took the final exam this morning, must notify me by email by 5 pm on Monday December 21st. (Note that this deadline has been extended.)
- Grading scale - This grading scale has been used to calculate the preliminary grades (without final exam), and the same scale will be used to determine letter grades for those students who choose to include a final exam in their grade.
- 96% - 100%: A+
- 92% - 96%: A
- 88% - 92%: A-
- 84% - 88%: B+
- 80% - 84%: B
- 76% - 80%: B-
- 72% - 76%: C+
- 68% - 72%: C
- 64% - 68%: C-
- 60% - 64%: D+
- 56% - 60%: D
- 52% - 56%: D-
- 0% - 52%: F
