Edward F. "Joe" Redish

E. F. (Joe) Redish is a professor of physics at the University of Maryland, College Park.. He received his Ph.D. in theoretical nuclear physics from M.I.T. in 1968 and has been at the University of Maryland ever since. His research in nuclear theory emphasized the theory of reactions and the quantum few-body problem.  Since 1982 he has been actively involved in the subject of physics education and since 1992 has devoted his entire research effort to physics education. He has received numerous awards for his work in physics education including the 1998 Robert A. Millikan Medal from the AAPT.
