Congratulations Spring 2004 Graduates!

On Thursday, May 20, 2004 the University of Maryland campus held its commencement ceremony at 7:00pm in the Comcast Center. Secretary Tom Ridge, Office of Homeland Security addressed the graduates.

On Friday, May 21, 2004, the colleges across campus honored their graduates with additional ceremonies. The College of Computer, Mathematical & Physical Sciences (CMPS) held its ceremony at 11:00am at the Reckord Armory. Dr. Rita Colwell, former director of the National Science Foundation and Distinguished University Professor of microbiology and biotechnology here at the University of Maryland, addressed the graduates. The student speaker was Mr. Istvan Laszlo, who earned degrees in astronomy, computer science, mathematics and physics.
