12/21/05B: The Distributions of the F05FinalExam raw scores and of the F05CourseScores have been posted here today. Click to view.
**********

12/21/05A:Each individual's CourseLetter Grade(LG), Rank in Class (Rank/64), Course Score(CsSc), Adjusted (by dropping the lowest exam hour's renormalized score) Test Score (AdjTS), Normalized Test Score (NTS), Raw Final exam score (RawFnl/120) and Normalized Final Exam Score (NFnl/133.9) has been posted on WebCT. In addition, the (RawLab/220) score, the adjusted (for the "80% is Enough" rule which gives the highest grade of 100 to every student who scores 80%, = 176 of 220, or more, of the maximum possible total lab score) Lab score (AdjLab/100), the Normalized Lab Score (NLS/75.0), the total raw HW score (RHW/144), the adjusted HW score (AdjHW/100), and the Normalized HW score (NHS).

The rank in class was defined by the Course Score: CsSC = 0.6NTS+0.3NLS+0.1NHS, and letter grades were assigned from the top down, with the break points set by gaps adequate to distinguish the highest B from the lowest A, etc. These break points turned out to be A(20)>79.5, B(12)>71.9, C(28)>42.5, F(2)<15.1.
We hope to post histograms of the Final Exam Raw Score Distribution and of the Course Score Distribution here as soon as possible.

12/14/05A: A second version of the S05Final-KEY-2XCrrcted is posted here today, and detailed solutions to problems #25, #33, and #109 for which the original key gave incorrect answers have also been posted: S05Final25-33-109.

12/11/05: A corrected version of the S05ExIII-KEY-Corrected has been posted, since the answers to #58 and #59 were wrong on the previous key. Detailed solutions to these problems have also been posted to clarify the corrections: S05ExIII#58-#59. Finally the (only slightly) modified Histogram of our ExIII scores' distribution has been posted: ExIII-correctedDistribution. (Recall that #14 had TWO correct answers - see below.)
**********

12/9/05C: The corrected Exam III Raw scores for students who answered (B) on the poorly posed Question #14 of Exam III, and the corrected Normalized scores of all students, have been uploaded to WebCT, where one can can use the password to view them. Students who answered (B) on question #14 gained two points in their Raw Scores, now labelled CrRExIII on WebCT, and typically about 2 two points in their renormalized scores, more or less depending upon where their scores lie in the distribution. All other students retained the same Raw Score, and had small shifts in their Normalized Score, now labelled CrNExIII on WebCT , due to the increase in the class average from 62.8 to 63.6 and of the standard deviation from 14.6 to 14.7.
