Our mentoring program pairs undergraduate and graduate students to form supportive relationships. Matching is based on research interests and availability for meeting. Mentor/mentee matches are assigned for the school year, but they can last longer as good relationships form.
We would like for mentors and mentees to meet at least three times over the course of a semester. There will be group mentoring activities, but please try to still meet individually.
To be a mentor, don't feel like you need to know all the answers or have perfect advice; just do what you can and be supportive. For advice on being a mentor and for useful resources, check out our mentoring tips document.
We received a Women in Physics Grant from the American Physical Society which will allow us to fund the mentoring program in 2016! Read more in the Physics Department News.
