Minutes

Minutes for December 2, 2004 "It was a dark and stormy night, and not a creature in the house was stirring." 'Wait a minute... wrong story. Let me start again. Ahem! Ahem!' The gloomy lights flickered upon a dark figure at the doorsteps of the undergraduate lounge. Actually that happened in the middle of the meeting. 'Alright. Alright. I'll start again. But this time I'll get it right.' The meeting began at 5:00 pm +/- 3 minutes EST at the physics undergraduate lounge. The future President of SPS, i.e., Erin, started the meeting and announced that we need people to start signing up for donuts. The Donut Czar, John Milne, indicated that there have to be two people signed up for all the slots, before the donuts will start. The donuts will be scrapped otherwise. So it is requested that people sign up for the shifts as soon as possible. Furthermore, since the coffee maker broke this morning, there will not be any donuts sold the rest of the semester. That is, there are no donuts on Friday, December 3, 2004, and the rest of this semester. Now the dark apparition appeared at the doorstep carrying an axe, as the light flickered and the thunder roared into the feared hearts of all men alike. There were sounds of pigs being slaughtered, women and children crying, and sounds so horrifying that would make your heart stop. But I digress, and the apparition was none other than Marvin the Martian, with his Imodium V-56 Space Modulator, who apparently wanted to have a better view of Venus. The noise and cries ceased, and the meeting continued. It was decided that the movie night will be held on December 10, 2004 sometime in the evening if we can have Clay reserve one of the rooms with a projector in it. The movie of choice is still Boondock Saints. This is the part where Sean entered the room, and everyone clapped in his honor. He suggested the following: "We should have SPS hold a strike against North Korea," and everyone agreed. So starting tomorrow we are going to assemble in front of the Mckelding building at 5:00 am with poster boards and tents and we will have a full fledge protest. Then someone brought about the point that there wasn't going to be any booze at the event, so everyone decided to scrap that idea right away, and the meeting moved onto the next topic. Erin decided that we should have a list of all the things that we would want to do next semester, and a list was made up. Some of the activities that were decided upon included Faculty student luncheon at the end of February, a camping trip, trips to observatories and other places, more movie nights, hold stands at basketball games, bowling, and gaming nights, and so on. And with that, the meeting ended at about 5:20 pm EST. Fin.
