Minutes

The Minutes for September 23, 2004 The meeting started at its usual time, i.e., 5:05 pm ish. Apparently, it seemed that there were fewer people present at today's meeting than before. Anyways, onward and forward to the meat of the meeting. The first item for business was the soccer game and bar-b-q. It was decided that the soccer game is to be held at the field off the campus Chapel, where the marching band usually practices. It was decided that those wanting to play the soccer game would at first assemble at the "Physics undergraduate lounge" at 4:45 pm ish on Friday, September 24, 2004. We will then proceed toward the field to play a nice and refreshing game of soccer. After the game, the bar-b-q will take place in the courtyard between the Math and the Physics building, right in front of CSR. Then people are free to go home. The second item for business was donuts. The last slots for the donuts shifts have been filled, and the donuts are set to start on Monday, September 27, 2004. John Milne, the Donut Czar will ensure the smooth operations at the donuts table. We will also be placing a jar for the Juvenile Research for Diabetes Foundation walk thing at the donuts table to obtain more contribution for the foundation. >> The third item for business was about to be discussed, when our honorable guest strolled into the room, and everyone clapped heartily in his honor. No, it was not a politician. "It's Sean," came a voice somewhere from the far reaches of the room. And then we got back to the discussion topic. << Talks were the third topic of discussion. Ari, our Treasurer, brought up the idea to have someone from the CS department to give a talk on compression algorithms and encryption. Arrangements are yet to be made. Also, another professor, Dr. Alley, was considered for a talk on the incompleteness of general relativity. Further discussion needs to take place on this matter. New furniture in the lounge showed up on Wednesday afternoon, which became the next topic for discussion at the meeting. It was decided that the place needs to be cleaned up, furniture needs to be rearranged. Some things need to be thrown out, and some things are just not working in the lounge. No further discussion took place on this topic. >> "What are you going to cook for us today?" asked the Secretary to Sean, who apparently was wearing a chemist's apron, and goggles. "Meat loaf," came a response from our President, Kim. "Maybe squirrel meatloaf. That sounds nice," continued the President. "American Psycho! All that's needed is an axe," spake the meek and benevolent member of SPS, Adam. << Last topic of discussion was the assignment of lockers to SPS members, or whoever wants one. It was decided that people have the end of this week to remove everything from their lockers if they do not have combination locks. "That's all folks!" - Porky Pig. "Game Over! Go Home." - Kim, our President.
