MinutesMinutes for September 2, 2004 ----------------------------- "Kim is getting food," said Ari. So started today's meeting at 5:05 pm EST. With flourescent lights flickering above, the SPS members awaited to discuss the agenda for today. Unexplicably, the items discussed in the meeting went in the reverse order in which they were planned to be discussed. So, the fridge cleaning issue was brought up by Ari, and that discussion soon changed to the discussion of donuts. John Milne, as the new Donut Czar, agreed to start donut shifts starting Monday, September 13, 2004, unless of course there aren't enough people signed up for the shifts. It was decided that Dunkin' Donuts would be our new place for picking up donuts, and we would start selling some new brand of coffee. The sign up sheet for the donut shifts would be put up tomorrow, i.e., Friday, September 3. As we were about to move onto our next topic, a familiar figure was sighted through the SPS lounge window. The figure seemed to have a faint resemblance to a beloved member of the SPS who was thought to have ceased to exist in this spacetime since the end of the spring semester. The door opens slowly. Everyone gasps, "It's Sean." Everyone clapped in his honor. "I thought you were dead," said a member. "What happened?" asked another. Aghast from the cacophony of sounds, Sean covered his face and exited the room. Yet, a moment later he returned. We all then began the next topic of business. The Ignobels trip was pondered upon for a few minutes. We discussed whether we could get some professor to join us on our trip. The trip would supposedly be held sometime in the first week of October in Harvard University. Suddenly, an uproar: "When is Kim going to be coming back with food?" A question posed by Trey resulted in some laughter and a digression of the meeting into other comments, viz.: "Where is my Tupperware?" and "It's not even mine." Slowly, the topic of discussing undigressed to the next topic of discussion: SPS recrcuitment fliers. It was decided that Steve is to pass out fliers and talk about SPS to the PHYS 171 class, Ari to PHYS 272, and Erin to PHYS 273. Cleaning was the next item for discussion. It was so decided that tomorrow, Friday, September 3, 2004 will be the day for cleaning the lounge. Derrick mentioned the purchace of a handheld vacuum cleaner and Ari indicated that it was up for consideration. The next item for discussion was the whole thing with the new Linux box, and its placement in the lounge. It was decided that Puneet would be the admin for the machine, and the placement of the computer will be decided on Firday, September 3, 2004 after the cleaning of the room has been performed. "Hey Adrian...." Thus Bernie addressed Ari with unremarkable precision for the "30th time." "I'm done with this sh**," said Derrick. And the meeting was adjourned after a brief discussion of SPS talks. The End. Back to the list of minutes. Main | Roster | Calendar | Minutes | Pictures | Doughnuts | Links | News |
