- Students interpretations of math in the context of physics depends on a lot more than knowing the mechanics of the math.
- They must become comforable with a wider range of mechanical tools (e.g., multiple symbols and types of symbols) than is typical in a math class.
- They must learn to see math in physics as a representation of relationships between measurements.
- They must build their qualitative mental models and their mathematical representations together.
