Things of Physics: Structures

Dimensions

What we like to do in physics is to quantify -- to assign numerical values to things in the physical world in order to get an approximate but accurate description of something. To do this, we typically create a process by which we can assign a number to a physical quantity by matching it to a standard (or unit) and simply counting the number of standards that fit. Let's give an example.
