Goals
The goals of the University of MD QuarkNet Science Education
Center are:
- To help teachers
gain a deeper understanding of particle physics and the
ongoing research in the field,
- To provide instructors
with ways to teach the basic concepts of physics in an inquiry-based
setting,
- To supply students
and teachers with access to cutting edge research equipment,
techniques, and data,
- To promote communication
between students, high school physics teachers, and particle
physicists,
- To encourage
students to pursue further studies in physics.
