Professor Ellen Williams Elected to the National Academy of Science

Congratulations to Distinguished University Professor, Ellen D. Williams on her recent election into the National Academy of Science. This extremely prestigous honor recognizes her distinguished and continuing achievements in original research.

Established in 1863, The National Academy of Sciences is a private organization of scientists and engineers dedicated to the furtherance of science and its use for the general welfare. The academy is also considered to be the official adviser to the federal government in any matter of science or technology.

Dr. Williams is one of 72 new members and 18 foreign associates from 14 countries elected. This brings the total number of active members to 1,976. This is truly a prestigious honor.
