Welcome to the December Photon! I hope you enjoy this issue, as we have much good with which to wrap up another successful year. As we close in on the end of the semester, life can get so hectic. I can only imagine what some of you are thinking:

"So much work to finish up!"
"So many finals to study for, so many papers to write!"
"So many finals to give, so many papers to grade!"
"I've barely started buying gifts!"

It's difficult, I know. But, let me just extend one simple holiday wish to each and every one of you. Take a moment and relax. Enjoy yourself. Spend time with your loved ones. Or in the comfort of some solitude. And, then, may we all have a very happy and productive new year!
