William Phillips Lecture: Joint Bowie State/University of Maryland Seminar Series Professor William D. Phillips, Distinguishes University Professor and Nobel Laureate, will be giving the inaugural lecture of a joint seminar series between the University of Maryland and Bowie State University. The series will focus on the physical and biological. Maryland Day The University of Maryland will hold its sixth annual Maryland Day, a campus-wide event open to the entire Baltimore-Washington community. All are invited to "Explore Our World" through a variety of fun and educational activities. The Physics Department's events will include liquid nitrogen ice cream, fun make & takes (light-sensitive bracelets & more), physics demos, lab tours, a pitching contest, a lecture by Nobel Laureate William Phillips -- and more!
