William Phillips Lecture: Joint Bowie State/University of Maryland Seminar Series

Professor William D. Phillips, Distinguishes University Professor and Nobel Laureate, will be giving the inaugural lecture of a joint seminar series between the University of Maryland and Bowie State University. The series will focus on the physical and biological. Dr. Phillips will be speaking on "Almost Absolute Zero: The Coldest Stuff in the Universe"

Maryland Day

The University of Maryland will hold its sixth annual Maryland Day, a campus-wide event open to the entire Baltimore-Washington community. All are invited to "Explore Our World" through a variety of fun and educational activities. The Physics Department's events will include liquid nitrogen ice cream, fun make & takes (light-sensitive bracelets & more), physics demos, lab tours, a pitching contest, a lecture by Nobel Laureate William Phillips -- and more!
