· Congratulations to Physics alum Chia-Ren Hu (Ph.D., 1968), who has been elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS).

· Congratulations to Patrick O'Shea, 1986 Physics alum, has been elected a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). Dr. O'Shea is currently the Director of the Institute for Research in Electronics and Applied Physics (IREAP) and a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering here at the University of Maryland.
