M5-12: LASER DIFFRACTION - RAZOR EDGE

PURPOSE: Diffraction of a laser beam by a sharp edge.

DESCRIPTION: Position the razor edge in the laser beam using the double cross carriage to see the classic knife edge diffraction pattern on a distant screen. The pattern can be seen on a near screen using a cylindrical lens. The lens may enhance the pattern on the distant screen.
