Optical Board Configuration

Basic setup of Optical Board for most demonstrations.

showing optical element storage facilities and light source holder.

Important parts and accessories include:

Production of a narrow beam of parallel rays using a single double convex lens,
and a wider beam of parallel rays using a plano-concave lens in combination with a double convex lens
in the white and the colored ray modes.

Major optical components include:

Smaller optical components for performing ray tracing:

Baffles with 1mm slits for defining light rays:

Setup for production of principal rays emanating from the tip of an object arrow.
A half-silvered mirror produces the central ray and the object vector
and a rotating front-surface mirror produces rays from the object tip.
