PURPOSE: To demonstrate mutual induction.

DESCRIPTION: Two pairs of concentric coils are coupled by an iron core. Connect 9-volt battery to start and stop current in any one of the coils. The current induced in any of the other coils can be seen using the galvanometer. Connecting battery to coil with meter will damage the meter.
