Subject: Web vpn instructions

Drew,

Here are the instructions to access the Web VPN.

1.  Go to https://sslvpn.ece.umd.edu/physics
2.  User: drew pw: asdf&*123
3.  After logging in, click "Start" in the lower right corner on the NetConnect line which starts the VPN.  This will work on a Mac or Windows machine.
4.  Use terminal server client to connect to destination machine by name such as drew4.physics.umd.edu.

To change your password, first log in using steps 1 and 2 above.  Then go to the Preferences tab at the top of the screen and then go to the General tab.  The change password option is at the top.  You need to have a relatively complex password.  You should be able to use the same password you use for your Directory password.  If you want to use a different password, it has to be at least 8 characters long and must have 3 of the 4 of the following: uppercase letter, lowercase letter, number, and symbol.

Another way from a Windows machine:  make a new network connection, VPM, then go to ecevpn.ece.umd.edu and long in as drew@physics.umd.edu and that should work
