WHAT'S HAPPENNING TO THE
EARTH'S MAGNETIC FIELD?
Recent research shows that the Earth’s magnetic field continues to drop in strength – possibly toward a reversal. Our researchers are working to improve our ability to understand and forecast the Earth’s core dynamics. Prompted by the recent arrival of the main vessel, the University of Maryland is hosting an open house showcasing its latest experiment modeling the Earth’s outer core.
    When: November 10, 2004, 4 -7 pm
Where: 0204 Energy Research Building
Parking: Available in the Paint Branch Visitors Lot,
across from the Energy Research Bldg.
What: A reception of light fare and refreshments &
Hourly presentations of the research project by Prof. Daniel Lathrop
