F5-24: VENTURI TUBE WITH WATER - MANOMETERS

PURPOSE: To illustrate the Venturi effect in water.

DESCRIPTION: The apparatus consists of a water reservoir and a Venturi tube with manometers. The pressure is measured at three points along the tube. Hold reservoir and end of tube high enough that the water will not flow to show that the level is the same in all the manometers under static conditions. Click on the photograph above for a hi-res close-up of the Venturi tubes.

SUGGESTIONS: This one is more effective than its counterpart, F5-23: VENTURI TUBE WITH WATER - GAUGES, because it is more visual and easier to use.
