We have set up an e-mail list using which we can send out copies of the Physics is Phun flyers each August for the following academic year, as well as send reminders and possibly other relevant announcements. Use of this format also allows us to reduce the work and the cost of sending our announcements by U. S. mail.

This list will be used for Physics is Phun purposes only, and will not be given to any other groups inside or out of the University.

You may sign up for the list by sending an e-mail to us using the following procedure:

• To subscribe to the list you send mail to:

  listserv@listserv.umd.edu

• The mail item should ONLY contain the phrase:

  subscribe physicsisphun name-of-subscriber

  Please remove all other printing from the message, such as the signature section and any old, wise sayings that you like to include in your messages to old buddies. This seems to confuse the system.

• For example, if your name is John Smith you might do:

  subscribe physicsisphun John Smith

• Upon receiving your request to be added to the list, the server will make an e-mail verification of your e-mail address. You must respond to this verification order within 48 hours to complete the process of adding your name to the list.

• If you want to leave the list repeat the above process above but replace subscribe with unsubscribe and leave your name off.

  For example:

  unsubscribe physicsisphun

  Thank you for your interest in Physics is Phun and your willingness to use this mailing list.
