Notice that in this case the weight of the wooden block causes the right side of the balance to go down, but the surface of the water in the beaker at the right also goes down. Therefore, more water will flow from the left beaker to the right beaker, causing it to become more unbalanced (see level) before equilibrium is reached (compare water levels in the two beakers).
