The answer is (b): the bulb immediately gets much brighter, then very quickly burns out and ceases to glow, as seen in an mpeg video by clicking your mouse on the photograph below.

When air enters the bulb, the oxygen allows the filament to "burn" very strongly, so it burns up very quickly (within less than a second).
