2014 Conference for
Undergraduate Women in Physics
UMD & NIST Present the Mid-Atlantic CUWiP
The CUWiP goal is to help undergraduate women continue in physics by providing them with the opportunity to experience a professional conference, information about graduate school and professions in physics, and access to other women in physics of all ages with whom they can share experiences, advice, and ideas.
This year's keynote speaker, Dr. Debra Fischer will address all CUWiP sites via a broadcast. In addition the Mid-Atlantic CUWiP will host Dr. Melissa Franklin (the first female tenured in Physics at Harvard), Dr. Kate Kirby (the Executive Officer for APS), and Dr. Ellen Williams (the Chief Scientist at BP). The event will also include tours of the nearby National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)!
Attendees should complete the Mid-Atlantic CUWiP Registration by Dec. 9th, 2013 at 11:59 PM EST!
