Subject: Physics 270 Class e-mail From: Greg Jenkins Date: Sun, 06 Sep 2009 21:11:48 -0400 Physics 270 Class e-mail: ------------------------- Logistical problems with the Mastering Physics website (like buying an account, logging in difficulty, trouble using the interface) should be tested and done well ahead of the Tuesday deadline. It is your responsibility! Waiting to the last minute and having trouble logging in is not a valid excuse for late homework. There is no credit for late homework. Please read the syllabus for instructions which include the 'Course ID' required to login: http://www.physics.umd.edu/courses/Phys270/Jenkins/Syllabus.html http://masteringphysics.com/ You are responsible for all homework problems. Only a fraction of these problems are being graded for homework credit, but you are expected to know how to do all of them. Quiz and exam questions will presume you have done all of the problems and understand the concepts. Quiz #1 will be given during this week at your designated discussion section. Please beware that if you miss two quizzes, and then have a valid excuse to miss another one, you must have valid excuses for all the quizzes you missed (not just the one!). Homework assignment #2 is posted: http://www.physics.umd.edu/courses/Phys270/Jenkins/Homework.html Lecture notes are posted for the next few lectures: http://www.physics.umd.edu/courses/Phys270/Jenkins/Schedule.html All office hours are now posted for the TAs and instructor: http://www.physics.umd.edu/courses/Phys270/Jenkins/Home.html Any student is encouraged to go to any TA during any of the posted office hours for help regarding homework or class material. We are here to help you learn! Please take advantage of the office hours if you have any problems with the material.
