I had arrived at the airport, and there was a lot labeled “cell phone waiting area”.  You could park in this lot and wait until the person you were picking up called on the cell phone, and then you could drive to the terminal to pick them up.  Why did people park so far apart?  Well, it didn’t matter where you parked, because you weren’t going to get out and walk anywhere, but nobody wanted to park right next to someone else who was waiting in his car.
