Rooms 1107 & 1111 J-H. Kim Engineering Bldg.

University of Maryland

The workshop will feature talks and discussion of current important research issues in multiferroic materials by members of the oxides team of the NSF supported UMD-MRSEC and several outside speakers. The main theme will be the dynamics of the spin and lattice coupling in multiferroics. Speakers will include Sang-Wook Cheong (Rutgers), Dennis Drew (UMD), Jeff Lynn (NIST), Daniel Khomskii (Köln), Ichiro Takeuchi (Materials), and Maxim Mostovoy (Groningen), Collin Broholm (Johns Hopkins - NIST), and Seunghun Lee (Virginia).  In addition there will be a poster session featuring the current research activities.
