The Department of Physics proudly congratulates Professor Emeritus, Dr. John Layman on his recent election to Fellowship in the American Physical Society "for his contributions to physics education and for his national leadership in the training of physics teachers."

Dr. Layman will be presented with his fellowship certificate at the annual meeting this spring. His name and fellowship citation will be published in the March 2004 issue of APS News and will appear on the Fellowship Page of the APS Home Page [http://www.aps.org].
