The Department of Physics proudly congratulates Professor Jordan A. Goodman who was recently selected as the recipient of the 2004 Kirwan Undergraduate Education Award. This is a well deserved honor that highlights Dr. Goodman's stellar career.

Former University of Maryland President William E. Kirwan and Patricia H. Kirwan have established a fund to support two annual prizes. The Kirwan Undergraduate Award recognizes faculty or staff who have made exceptional contributions to the quality of undergraduate education at the university.

Dr. Goodman was honored for his breadth and depth of contributions to the University's educational mission. In particular, his dedication as an instructor, innovatiion as a curriculum reformer and mentorship of both undergraduate and graduate students.

The award will be presented at the Campus Convocation on October 12, 2004.
