The Monroe H. Martin Prize sponsored by the Institute for Physical Sciences and Technology was established to commemorate the achievements of Professor Emeritus Monroe H. Martin, former Director of the Institute for Fluid Dynamics and Applied Mathematics, and Chair of the Department of Mathematics, University of Maryland. The award is presented each year to those physics majors (up to four) who have completed the best undergraduate research in physics.
