The Physics Olympics
at the University of Maryland

The University of Maryland Physics Olympics, founded in 1979 by John Layman, is held annually in the month of April at the University of Maryland Physics Department. Teams from high schools in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia compete in eight events to determine the championship school.

The Spring 2013 University of Maryland Physics Olympics will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013.

Registration will begin at 8:00 AM.

The Opening Ceremony will be promptly at 9:00 AM, with the competition commencing immediately thereafter.

Judges

are asked to meet 30 minutes before the event start time to review judging procedures.

Students

are asked to remind their teacher/judges to meet 30 minutes before the start time.

An application form needs to be submitted for each team. The application form can be obtained here.

Submit applications by Friday, April 12, 2013.
